"Education is not the filling of a pail, but rather the lighting of a fire." -W.B. Yeats

In June 2013, I will be graduating with my Masters in Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Education has become a huge part of my life, and I would love to continue this by teaching as a part of an incredible team at a wonderful school.

Teaching Experience

I have had some wonderful experiences teaching (and learning!) at schools in Toronto through OISE while completing my Masters in Teaching. These experiences have been as a Teacher Candidate with an overseeing Associate Teacher.

I have taught in traditional high schools and in alternative education schools, through the Toronto District School Board.

I have also taught at the intermediate level levels through independent schools in Toronto.

The subjects and courses that I have taught include History (with examples including Canadian History, History of Genocide), English (such as Studies in Literature, grade 11/12 English), Law, Philosophy, Civics and Theatre.

Philosophy of Education

As Yeats states above, I fully endorse the 'lighting of a fire' in the students I teach. I want each and every student that I encounter to question an analyze what they are learning, and to embrace experiences and ideas.
